How well do you know your company's energy consumption?

Every company is a city. It has its streets, its flows, its people working every day. It has power plants that drive it, pipelines that heat it, vehicles that connect it to the outside world. This city consumes energy to live. And as long as the city functions, nobody asks where that energy comes from, what it costs, and what happens when the rules of the game change.

Your company uses energy every day. The CNC machine, the paint shop, the truck on its way to the customer, the sales agent's vehicle, the heating and/or cooling system. Every energy supplier invoice. Every kilowatt-hour. You know the energy cost in euros. What most companies do not yet know is exactly where it comes from.

In December 2025, a new dragon appeared on the horizon.

The Energy Efficiency Act NN 155/2025 entered into force. Quietly, without announcement in the daily news, without warning in the inbox. But the dragon is here. And it does not ask whether your city is ready.

The dragon has announced its arrival for 11 October 2026.

By that date, every company whose average annual energy consumption over the last three years exceeds 2.78 GWh is required to conduct their first Energy Audit and prepare an annual action plan that management adopts and publicly publishes every 12 months. Companies above 23.61 GWh are required to introduce a certified energy management system such as ISO 50001 or an equivalent standard by 11 October 2027.

Everything goes into the calculation of average annual energy consumption. Electricity, natural gas, LPG, steam, fuel for transport. Every process. Every activity. Every invoice.

Companies that wait for the dragon to knock on the door potentially pay the price of delay.

However, cities that call on a professional guide in time and build their walls before the dragon arrives, will be ready.

My name is Ana Radovčić, founder of Net.studio Aranea d.o.o. Your guide through energy legislation. I help with data, methodology and organisation. I conduct Energy Audits that show your city where consumption comes from, which processes are essential for survival, and where there is room for a better business decision without loss of productivity. I prepare action plans that management can adopt immediately. I advise on ISO 50001 implementation for companies that want to manage energy long-term, not just meet the legal minimum.

Energy Audits in Buildings

Energy Audits in Buildings

An energy audit in buildings provides a clear picture of existing energy consumption, the technical condition of systems and opportunities for cost reduction. The building envelope, heating, cooling, lighting and energy use patterns are analysed.

Energy Audits in Industry

Energy Audits in Industry

An industrial energy audit covers production processes, auxiliary systems and energy carrier consumption. The result is concrete recommendations for increased efficiency, loss reduction and better control of operating costs.

ISO 50001 and ISO 14001

ISO 50001 & ISO 14001

We support the establishment and improvement of energy and environmental management systems according to ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 standards. This strengthens process organisation, compliance with requirements and long-term business sustainability.

An energy and environmental audit is not a bureaucratic obligation. It is a map of your city. A map that shows where energy leaks, where it is spent wisely, and where there is room for a better business decision.

Bernard, CFO of a distribution company, knew how the energy cost in euros. He did not know which business process was a "hot spot". The analysis showed that the fleet was the biggest consumer. He replaced five vehicles with hybrids charged from the existing rooftop solar installation. The result was a 12% lower annual energy bill. One decision. Data that already existed.

Your company has the same data. It only lacks the methodology to connect it.

The obligation comes on 11 October 2026. There is still time for the company to prepare. But preparations do not start the day before.
